Single Storey Extension

A ground floor extension shouldn’t be viewed as a room.  Whilst spending the time and money adding an extension, the whole ground floor layout should be assessed to maximise the practical use of all spaces and how they interact with each other and the gardens around your home.   You may even find that by remodelling your existing house, you may only need a small extension or even no addition floor space at all.  The aim should be to improve the how your home works for you, providing good flow and maximising the views and natural light in the rooms you spend most of your time in.

Most houses have Permitted Development Rights, even houses in Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty or Conservation Areas are allowed Ground Floor Extensions at the rear of the original house using Permitted Developments Rights.  If Planning Approval is required, its generally easier to obtain than changes to the exterior of your home at first floor and roof levels.

The images shown are from a clients project and below they have kindly provided some feedback on the services we provided.

"We are very happy with the services that have been provided. June has provided us with good advice and worked with us to develop the design we required. Issues have been dealt with promptly and drawings have been produced quickly. Builders have commented upon the quality and content of plans and drawings that have been produced. June has continued to be available throughout the construction phase to answer questions that have arisen and provide additional information that has been required."
